Michelson Interferometer & Mach–Zehnder Interferometer Experiments Added to Akademika Fiber Optics Labs

Jeebr Internet

Akademika has expanded its Fiber Optics Laboratory offerings with the addition of Michelson Interferometer and Mach–Zehnder Interferometer experiments, strengthening hands-on learning in optical interference and photonics. These newly introduced experiments allow students to observe and analyze optical phenomena through real-time fringe formation and phase variation, enhancing conceptual clarity and measurement confidence.

The Michelson Interferometer experiment enables learners to study optical path differences, wavelength variations, mirror displacement, and coherence properties by observing real-time interference patterns. Subtle mechanical or environmental changes translate directly into measurable fringe movement, helping students understand precision metrology principles used in optics, sensing, and semiconductor applications.

The Mach–Zehnder Interferometer experiment introduces a two-arm, open-path configuration that allows samples, fibers, or modulators to be inserted into individual paths. Students can study phase shifts, refractive index changes, and modulation effects through real-time interference response, making the experiment highly relevant to modern optical communication and photonic systems.

By incorporating these interferometric experiments, Akademika enables real-time visualization, analysis, and interpretation of optical behavior, bridging theoretical concepts with practical implementation. These additions further enhance the Fiber Optics Lab as a comprehensive platform for academic instruction, research exposure, and industry-aligned skill development.

With 35 years of legacy in Technical Education, Akademika  extends its expertise to Defence and Skill development, building Innovative, Reliable Training Systems for the next generation of Learners.
